Rose Bishop is a classically trained flutist based in Iowa. She is comfortable in performing and recording across a broad spectrum of styles, from classical to diverse world music genres, encompassing extended techniques and improvisational elements.

In addition to her orchestral career, Rose has commissioned and premiered over 100 pieces for a variety of flutes, including piccolo, c flute, alto flute, bass flute, and contrabass flute.

Her recording of Night Song for Moths for solo piccolo is to be featured in the documentary Walk a Giant Staircase later this year, which tells the story of Jug Handle Ecological Staircase on California’s northern coast, an area that literally rose out of the sea in five “steps” over 500,000 years.
